Orlando Party TV – Orlando, Florida

February 12, 2010 by Central Florida Magazine
Filed under Entertainment

Filipe Costa is proof that the entrepreneurial spirit is still alive despite the lagging economy. Last year Costa founded Orlando Party TV, an online channel highlighting events from around the Central Florida area. In a few short months, Orlando Party TV has covered events such as Open Mike Nights with spoken word artists, Daytona’s Bikeweek & Biketoberfest.

“Our goal is to cover as many local events as possible and post them online with exclusive videos and pictures giving Central Florida readers a more in depth look about those respective events,” Costa said. “They say a picture is worth a thousand  words and we truly believe these videos will paint the picture for our followers who want to decide if they want to attend an event.”

When he was student at the University of South Florida majoring in computer engineering, Costa realized that while computer engineering was a good job, he didn’t feel fulfilled. He studied sound engineering and production then worked for Apple. His first love is music but the video production “rubbed off on me.”

“I started producing videos at home then I came up with the idea of having a channel,” Costa said.

Orlando Party TV is also available to businesses who need a videographer for their seminars, training sessions or events. Costa’s future plans include covering family related events such as sports events, weddings and birthday parties.

“We feel videos haven’t been taken fully advantage of when it comes showcasing these events yet,” Costa said. “However, our goal is to change that scenario rapidly. People can watch videos on their cell phones. By posting videos with professional quality but at the same time leaving the people to be our reporters, readers will get a true opinion of that particular event was like. ”
