Before starting out, put on some sun block and insect repellant, you may even want to wear a long sleeve shirt and cap. Make sure you have comfortable hiking shoes, water, your cell phone or iPhone for maps and emergency communications and camera. Many of our trails are perfect for shorter hikes and even a few for those looking for an endurance trek.
No matter where in Central Florida you hike, you are certain to find many rare plants and lots of wildlife, so keep your camera ready to capture the moment.
When you hike Lake Kissimmee State Park, there’s a good chance you will spot one or more of the 50 endangered species along the 13 miles of Florida trail.
